If you’re a freelancer or entrepreneur working on your own, you probably wish it was easier to bounce ideas around with others and get feedback. While being a solo-preneur has many advantages, one of the drawbacks is that you often don’t have peers for the cross-pollination of ideas and the mutual sharing of knowledge and experience.
This is a feature article I first wrote for the Life Coaching Inisights website. It is a topic which is close to my heart – the message that the path of spirituality and material engagement are not separate paths. These pursuits are not mututally exclusive. They can overlap perfectly and harmoniously. Here’s how…
Traditionally we are accustomed to seeing the pursuit of success and wealth as completely divergent from the path of self-development and spirituality. Consciously or subconsciously we tend to divide our pursuits into two broad categories: inner development and outer achievement. But when we take a closer look, we see that both pursuits can be aspects of the same path.
My thanks go to Devin Iyer, my friend and erstwhile business partner, who wrote this intriguing article for this week’s Blog post. You can find out more about Devin and how to contact him, at the bottom of the post. Continue reading Wealth Success and Spirituality
There are many ways you could explore and engage your relationship with wealth and abundance. You could earn, spend, save, overspend, be really frugal, donate, you could give away some of your money, win the lottery, or perhaps lose money on a poor investment decision.
Each experience gives you an opportunity to take a deeper look at how you feel and think about money. Some of these experiences can help you realise the nature of your money beliefs and affirm that they may be working well for you. Others may help you realise what attitudes may not be working, and give you the opportunity to change them. Continue reading Consciously Explore your Relationship with Money
Many of us think that if we are wanting more, we must necessarily be unhappy with where we are, or we must be trying to escape our current circumstances. Many think that the teaching of deliberate attraction is contrary to the traditional spiritual teaching of contentment.
If we are urging first world countries to forgive the debt of poorer third world countries, are we willing to do this on a personal level too?
I believe we should. As above, so below. What works for the macrocosm must work for the microcosm.
Whether your supposed oppressor or aggressor has hurt you with words or in other ways, it helps you more than them to assume a stance of forgiveness. Whether or you let your aggressor off the hook or choose to take the matter to court, it still helps to assume this stance internally. Continue reading Forgiving Personal Debt
“Money”, like most English words can have many different definitions and interpretations. Indeed, English itself can be an ambiguous language at the best of times, in which meaning most often depends on context and even culture.
Now here’s a perspective on money which you probably haven’t heard before, and which will help you relate to money differently, and influence your ability to attract more of it into your life: You might be used to thinking – either consciously or subconsciously – that you need money. Have you ever considered that it could also be true be that money needs you?!
Here’s what I mean by this. Firstly everything is energy. Every single thing in the manifested universe is energy. The sun is energy. The earth and everything on it are forms of energy. This means that you too are energy. Your thoughts and emotions are forms of energy. Even our social constructs like the law, or friendship, or holidays embody a certain energy. So too with the thing we call money. Continue reading Money Needs You!
Currently, most of us on the planet still hold the idea that God, the creator of all this world, created the world as distinct and separate from ‘the creator himself’, at the beginning of time, and then left it alone. We see ourselves and this whole physical world as the ‘the created’, and quite separate from the ‘creator’. Consequently, we see ourselves as limited beings with very limited powers of creation.
I’d like you to consider something startling: that this is an illusion! Separation is an illusion, superimposed by the human mind over the truth of oneness. All things are one, and the idea of separation from life, separation from each other and separation from the Divine essence or God, is an illusion, a myth, and idea that is not congruent with ultimate reality.
